I would like to thank you for serving in our armed forces to protect my freedom. Thank you for putting your life on the line like so many others have so I can do simple things like going to church and buying food at the store. I often take for granted the basic rights we have in America that other countries might not have, like freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and freedom of the press. It seems pretty insignificant to me when I see an American flag, but I know that people like you fought and sometimes died to keep that flag standing over the land of the free and the home of the brave.

Thank your for serving our country and taking pride to stand for our flag and going into battle. My name is Kodie and I like to show cows at the fair. I am 14 years old and in the eighth grade and like to play sports and hang out with friends. I also work on my grandpa’s farm and drive 4 wheelers. I like to go hunting, fishing and trapping when I have the time. I have two dogs and they are fat. My school name is Lynnville Sully School and my teacher is Mr. Johnson. I was thinking about coming in the army when I graduate but I don't know yet I think it is a scary thing so I will need to think about it. Thank you for serving our country and being strong,

I would also like to say that I am really happy that we have freedom and that anyone who deserves dedicates their lives to the people who served for freedom. I would really like to say a big thank you to the people who are serving right now. Thank you so much for your service and really hope that you have a safe trip to where you are fighting and hope we can gain more people to gain more freedom. It was also a very great pleasure to write this letter and hope whoever gets it makes there day. Thank you for your service.

I would like to start off by saying thank you for all the bravery you have showed. It is amazing, the example you have set for people in the world. To be selfless and brave. Thank you for fighting for our freedom. Because of you I can freely go to school and participate in activities that I want. I personally love to play all the sports I can, but my favorite is softball. We are doing a WWII unit in school right now and the new perspectives I have found are incredible. When we learn about what happened during that time, and what had to be done. It really makes me thankful for the opportunities that we take for granted every day. So I want to thank you again for your sacrifices that you have made, and the opportunity to be free.

My name is Elizabeth Squires and I would like to take the time to thank you for what you do. Many times people will take freedom for granted and not stop and take the time to think about what it really means. Recently we have studied about the Holocaust and what freedoms were destroyed when Hitler gained a lot of power. One of the things that were taken away that stuck out to me the most were the amount of foods and supplies a family could have. They were limited to a certain amount and kept track of that with a ration book. When it got really bad and the Jews were sent to concentration camps it stuck out to me that they were treated more like property than humans. It makes me stop and appreciate that we do not have to live like that as citizens of the United States. With all these things in mind I would especially like to thank you for helping make our country free so we can have rights.

It is so great to think that people are fighting for our freedoms and to make sure that we will be able to be free forever. Some of the sacrifices that you make for us everyday is so much to be thankful for. I am so glad that I live in a country where I have people fighting for our country. I am also super thankful that I can go to school and church without having to fear for my life. Part of the reason why I don’t have to be afraid is because of you.
So thanks again for being a selfless person and helping other people. You make our country safe, free, and just amazing.

I would like to thank you for defending and protecting us. Your job is hard and and I would like to thank you for your duty to the country. I know how important our flag is and the people who have protected it for centuries. Not only did they protect it they died for their country. They did this protect us. You and many others deserve my thanks so many out there have gave their life to make sure freedom survives. It is this here because you and so many others defend us. You deserve my gratitude and so many others for the service you carry out.
I know how much that flag means and it’s stripes and stars show freedom to many of us. The flag is much more than this it has history and many years of people defending it for generations. Now it is this generation's turn to protect the meaning of democracy and freedom. That is why I would like to thank you for being a defender of our country.

Thank you for fighting for our freedom. We appreciate that you sacrifice yourself for us knowing that you might not come back to those you loved or others around you. We also appreciate that you still keep fighting no matter what and fight for those who can’t fight for themselves. We might the advantage of our freedom but we enjoy having it and try to make the best of it in any situation that comes our way. We hope that you will continue on and keep fighting for America, Independence, and Freedom that we have fought for during the past. We might not be on the battlefield of on a base or near any military base but we support everybody that fights for us and everybody in america that can’t fight for themselves.

My name is Luke. I am an eighth grader from Lynnville sully middle school. My teacher is Mr Johnson. I really want to thank you for your selflessness. You are willing to put your life on the line for our country. I really have a lot of respect for anybody in the military. My brother is in the reserves and he might be shipped out soon.
Right now professional baseball is going on. I personally like the Chicago cubs. Do you like any baseball team. Also Junior High baseball is starting soon and i'm playing in it. Without you and the rest of our military that wouldn't be possible for me. I know that you are sacrificing so much for our country and that makes me really partitic. I really love this country and hope to join up like my brother. I really want to help this country like you do and everybody else who joins. Thank you one more time and I wish you the best of luck.

Thank you for serving for our country and being willing to die for us. That means a lot to me and I just want to let you know that. You may be wondering why I say it means a lot to me, well that's because I love my country, and I have family members that have served or are serving. I haven't really ever got the chance to write to a soldier before so I am kinda struggling with what to say because there is lots I want to say. The picture that I have created also means a lot. I would say that my picture says that I’m thankful for my freedom, safety, country, life and a lot of other things. A lot of my family has served and I look up to them and admire them. Well the same goes for you, because you are fighting for me and not only me but pretty much the whole entire United States. I know that our whole family looked up to you and admires you, along with everyone else in service and fighting. So thank you for doing what you're doing and keeping this country safe. Again thank you so much!!

My name is Payton and I am from lynnville-Sully middle school, My teacher is wanting us to write to a veteran that had served and helped save our country and that is what I am going to do I want to start out as thanking you for putting your life on the line every time you go out into combat to save our country and sacrificing your life to do the right thing and getting everything controlled. When I think of the war I think of bombs and people getting shot at and killed and being really tough people but Now that we are learning about this I have learned a lot more because. Now I know that you don't have to be the toughest guy of your job as being a veteran is to get shot and stuff like that but no you can be like a mechanic and a doctor but there still with them always to be a veteran because they're sacrificing their life to be there and watching people die and the could get shot also but you have to be a tough hearted person to be able to do that is what I wanted to thank you and always stay safe out there.

I’d like to start off by thanking you for being the brave person you are. You risked your life for not just me, but millions of people to be free. Thank you for fighting and being so courageous, you probably don’t hear this everyday but you truly are an American Hero! I’m lucky to be able to call you my grandpa, because you’ve taught me a lot, especially with me being a part of Juniors. Could you tell me a little bit about when you were fighting, you don’t have to but I think it would be really cool. You haven’t really told me much about your time while fighting the enemy, and I would love to listen to some stories you have, and share them with my class. So if you want to reply next time I come to your house you could tell me things, and I can take some notes! I understand that you might not want to talk about it, because I’m sure it was a hard part of your life…
I probably should tell you why I’m writing you this letter… In Language Arts we are learning about WWII. We are supposed to write a letter to a veteran, and I knew you were a part of the Korean War so I decided to write to you. You’re not just my grandpa, you’re my hero and one of my best friends… I’m glad to be able to call you grandpa, because you’re one of the best out there! So thank you again Grandpa! Love you.
